Description

Details

The Gretsch G5420TG Electromatic 135th Anniversary LTD Hollowbody with Bigsby in Two-Tone Dark Cherry Metallic/Casino Gold, is a sophisticated model at an affordable price. From the practise room to the stage or studio, this heavenly guitar is equipped with premium features that'll keep you performing for hours on end in comfort and style.

Beautiful hollowbody

The Gretsch G5420TG Electromatic 135th Anniversary benefits from an illustrious history of design, that bestows upon this beautiful hollowbody an enviable "big body" tone. The back and sides are built using 5-ply maple, a highly resonant tonewood that works well with the large body to generate a bright output with impressive articulation. If you're a fan of belting out tunes on stage, you're going to love the G5420TG's response. The sound-post bracing provides ample support without affecting sustain or adding weight to the feel.

The body has been finished in a glorious two-tone dark cherry metallic/casino gold paint job. The finish is enhanced by the matching gold plexi pickguard with black Gretsch logo, pickup bezels, shining gold hardware, and aged white binding with black/white/black purfling. Gretsch have pulled out all the stops to produce a luxurious finish.

Comfortable maple neck

Joined to the body is a comfortable maple neck, which is shaped to the standard "U" profile for a manageable feel in the hand. The gloss finish allows you to glide along with ease, whilst the 24.6-inch scale length promotes a thicker, warmer tone. Paired with the neck is a 22 medium-jumbo fret compressed ebony fingerboard, which features Gretsch's unique pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail position inlays that provide a stylish yet discreet navigational aid.

Versatile Blacktop Filter'Trons

The G5420TG is home to a pair of Blacktop Filter'Tron humbuckers, which produce a mighty output that provides plenty of kick. The subtle nuances of your tone can be shaped with precision using the 3-position pickup selector switch, as well as the independent volume pots and master tone control, with gold G-Arrow hardware to help you. Whatever style of music that you're performing, from laid back jazz to in your face rock, this gorgeous guitar is perfect for taking on anything.

Stage-ready setup

The team at Gretsch know a thing or two when it comes to hitting the stage, and the G5420TG Electromatic 135th Anniversary LTD is designed to do just that. The headstock is home to vintage-style open-back tuning machines, which ensure that your tuning remains firm and true throughout the most bombastic of performances. The adjusto-matic bridge with secured compressed ebony base is coupled with a Bigsby B60 tailpiece, a winning partnership that optimises intonation and sustain whilst accommodating peerless vibrato control. The result is a playing feel unlike any other that responds dutifully every time.
