The Gretsch G5655TG Electromatic Center Block Jr. Electric Guitar with Bigsby incorporates classic looks with modern furnishing plus a resplendent finish to give you a guitar with equal looks and playability. This meticulously crafted guitar is designed to give you the unadulterated and robust 'big body sound' at high volumes in the tradition that Gretsch is renowned for.
All Maple Construction
The body of the Gretsch G5655TG Electromatic comprises of laminated maple top, back and sides that work with a spruce centre block to deliver a clear yet complex fundamental tone that can lend itself to a huge variety of styles of music. Maple is a highly desirable tonewood and gives you resonance with pronounced, bright, upper mid and high frequencies. In the low end, you'll find the G5655TG well defined and despite being slightly smaller than the average hollow body, this is one huge sounding guitar that due to it's smaller size is capable of handling high gain at full volume.
The thin 'U' shaped maple neck gives you ultimate playability. Whether you're fretting chords or riffing quickly you'll find it a breeze to play and with 22 medium-jumbo frets, you get plenty of options for sonic exploration. The laurel fingerboard is a joy to play on and the Pearloid Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays serve the dual purpose of looking subtly fantastic and ensuring you never lose your way.
Black Top Broad'Tron Humbuckers
The core of the G5655TG Electromatic sound is the pair of specially designed Black Top Broad'Tron humbucking pickups. The high output nature of these pickups give you a tight low-end, crystalline highs and grunt in the mid-range. To effectively shape your desired sound, the G5655TG gives you volume controls for each pickup alongside a master tone and master volume control. Traditionally you would find a balance between the two pickup volume controls only to have to reset when you need to turn up or down. With the master volume you can now set your individual pickups to the volume you like and then crank it or ease off as necessary, a most welcome addition.
High Quality Hardware
The Adjusto-Matic bridge has an anchored base to give you rock-solid intonation, standing up to the hardest string bends and wildest vibrato with ease. With the licensed Bigsby B70 vibrato tailpiece you can add some shimmer and voice to your playing. Whether you want to flutter, dip or raise you can rest assured your stings always return to concert pitch. Coupled with die-cast, gold tuning machines you get a rock steady tuning platform that's always ready to go. To match the stunning paintwork you get all-gold hardware and G-Arrow control knobs resulting in a simply stunning looking guitar that plays just as good as it looks.
