As part of the Professional collection, the new Gretsch G6228FM Players Edition electric guitar is an outstanding instrument that is built to an exceptionally high level of craftsmanship. Featuring a sublime finish that is complimented by intricately designed appointments, the G6228FM looks absolutely stunning. More importantly though, it sounds and plays like a dream.

Beautifully designed

The solid mahogany back and sides is coupled with a highly resonant laminated flame maple top. The tonal characteristics of this combination give the guitar bags of power that is tempered by an articulate and crisp response.

The slender mahogany neck assures a supportive and reassuring feel whilst playing. The ebony fingerboard creates a confident playing surface on which to flex your creative muscles. The fingerboard is a string bender's dream - shaped to a highly desirable 12" radius -, allowing smooth bends to be executed with the greatest of ease, whilst reducing the chances of premature note drop-off. The cutaway design offers greater access to the upper frets so that the entire fingerboard is easier to reach.

The neck and fingerboard partnership works consistently to deliver a "tight"-sounding articulation in every note. The generous 24.6" scale length for the strings to resonate along, improving the overall sustain significantly. The unique Zero Fret nut design harks back to earlier models. Neo-classic thumbnail positions inlays guide you way along the fingerboard in style.

Sublime output

Two High Sensitive Broad'Tron BT65 humbucker pickups are fitted in the neck and bridge position respectively. For snappy and crisp country/jazz tones, simply flick the 3-way pickup selector switch to the neck position. The bridge position delivers thick and chunky bluesy tones to die for, whilst a measured combination of the two ensures a delightfully "full" sound. Each pickup setting offers a unique quality, giving the G6196T a great deal of tonal versatility.

Fitted to the G6228FM is the Anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge, coupled with a superb V-shaped stoptail, offering peerless stability. The smooth response of the bridge makes it a delight to use, allowing your creativity to flow freely. Gotoh locking tuning machines carry out the task of maintaining tuning integrity faithfully.

The G6228FM Players Edition is a gigging musician's dream. The High Sensitive Broad'Tron BT65 pickups deliver the timbre of the tonewoods with impeccable fidelity - allowing you to add a little sizzle and bite when needed, with articulation and clarity ever present across the entire fingerboard. The only danger with the G6228FM is that once you start playing, you'll never want to stop!
