Les Paul Guitars

Transcending the world of guitar, the Les Paul is a household name. Chances are that if you stopped someone in the street and asked them to name a guitar model, the Les Paul will be their response, and with good reason.

Since the early 1950s the Les Paul has been an aspirational model for many players thanks in no small part to the legends who would not be seen without theirs: Duane Allman, Gary Moore, Paul Kossof, and – not forgetting - Les Paul himself. Modern day heroes such as Slash perpetuate the model’s legacy, and with each generation a new guitar hero steps forth with trusty Les Paul in hand – will you be next?

Gibson Les Paul Legacy

The Les Paul guitar was designed by Gibson President Ted McCarty, factory manager John Huis and his team along with input from maverick music maker Les Paul. Through the 50s there were some adaptations and refinements made to the original design, but that solid single-cutaway body with mahogany/maple partnership paired with a mahogany set-in neck ensures to this day. Shifting from P-90 pickups to the coveted Patent Applied For (PAF) humbuckers, there are few electric guitars that are as highly revered as this beauty.

Across the decades there have been many variations on the design from single to triple humbucker pickup arrangements, intricate control wiring set ups, stripped-back affairs (Les Paul Junior), and lavish adornments. There have been non-weight relieved models that offer an intense workout to say the least, as well as weight-relieved models with a plethora of routs to choose from. Guitarists across virtually every genre of music imaginable have turned to the Les Paul in their time of need with countless musical luminaries always have one to several in their arsenal.

Today there are many options to choose from, which means that there is a Les Paul out there for everyone. Rest assured that in recent years Gibson have regained their mojo and the current crop of Les Pauls are the stuff that dreams are made of.
