If you’re looking for versatility in your next guitar purchase, then your search ends here. The Ibanez SA360 is designed for just that, with its electronics consisting of two single coils and a humbucker in the bridge that has been set up with coil splitting. That’s not all this guitar is about though. If you hadn’t noticed, it’s also an absolute stunner, with a quilt maple top giving an incredible texture to the gorgeous Sapphire Blue Burst finish, which has then been lovingly outlined with an Abalone body binding.
The quilt maple used for the top is accompanied by a mahogany body, to create an absolutely classic combination. This combination is popularised because of the balance of sound it offers to guitarists, with rich and deep tones complimented by crisp and snappy sounds at mid-high frequencies.
As any owner will tell you, if there is one thing that Ibanez does well, it is necks. The Ibanez SA360 Electric Guitar is the perfect example of this, with its utilisation of the SA 3-piece maple neck, which, with its measurements of 19.5mm at the first fret and 21.5mm at the 12th, gives a slim and fast-playing shape, which is partnered perfectly by a bound rosewood fingerboard with a 400mm radius, and the aforementioned Abalone dot inlays marking your path to guitar playing ecstasy.
Alongside this amazing playing surface, you also have the SAT Pro II tremolo bridge, which brings you solid tuning, and incredible precision and sustain, in addition to playing diversity.
The standout feature of the Ibanez SA360 Electric Guitar has to be its electronics, which get the best out of the rest of the instrument’s make up. Quantum single-coil pickups are housed in the neck and middle positions, while the coil-tapped True-Duo Bucker takes up residence at the bridge.
The True-Duo Bucker is controlled by the push-pull volume knob, which allows switching between genuine single-coil and humbucking tones in one pickup, and all the pickups can be selectively controlled with the 5 way pickup switch.
It is the combination of pickups, including the coil-tapping, along with the synchronized tremolo, that make the Ibanez SA360 capable of everything from clean rhythm, to crunchy blues, to extreme metal.
