Buying your first guitar can often be a difficult choice, especially if you're on a small budget. Ibanez created their GIO range to appeal to guitarists who are looking for quality without having to spend a fortune. The GRG131DX Spot Run offers superb tone and a quality feel despite its low price, making the ideal first guitar to go to for a beginner.

Sharp looking Body

Featuring the double cutaway profile, the GRG131DX body sits just right against the player while allowing you to access all of the frets that the neck has to offer. Ibanez have selected poplar to construct the body, contributing a well-rounded, warm resonant tone. The body also features a slight bevel which enhances comfort for your playing arm.

GRG Profile Neck

Firmly joined to the body of the GRG131DX Spot Run is a maple neck shaped to the comfortable GRG profile. The smooth playing feel is further improved by a pine fingerboard topping the neck. There are 24 jumbo frets available to explore with sharktooth inlays that guide you up and down.

Infinity R Humbuckers

Ibanez have employed a powerful pair of Infinity R humbucking pickups to engineer the sound of the GRG131DX Spot Run model. The ceramic pickups are situated in the neck and bridge positions. The dual humbuckers produce a fat, full-bodied tone that is ideal for thick chords and intricate riffs.

If you're just starting out and learning your way around the guitar, the control layout is nice and simple on the GRG131DX. Controls include Master Volume, Master Tone and a 3-way pickup switch.

Steadfast hardware

The lower bout of the body is fitted with a sturdy and reliable fixed bridge. The bridge provides accurate string spacing and facilitates changing over to new strings as and when you need to. Black hardware suits the finish of the guitar and is built to last.

Posted on 06/02/2019 by marcus it arrived on time and ready to play, it also came with a lead. The sound of this guitar is stunning and the feel it really is a great guitar to play on. I have tried many strats and other far more expensive RG Ibanez guitars however this one is a winner for me.
