Based on the incredibly popular iRig the IK Multimedia iRig Stomp utilises this interface to give you an iOS stomp box that can sit alongside the rest of your effects pedals but with the full capability of your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad’s iOS guitar / amp / instrument apps.
Although armed with the included AmpliTube FREE app, or any other guitar-processing app that uses the iOS mini-jack, for an unprecedented choice of tone shaping options the IK Multimedia iRig Stomp is still an effects pedal. Thus it is designed to fit inline with other effects pedals on a board or be connected directly to an amp or P.A system with a regular 1/4" guitar cable.
The IK Multimedia iRig Stomp, like any effects pedal worth its salt, has also been built to withstand life on the road with its durable, aluminium-cast enclosure. It is also ultra-compact and lightweight making it easier to carry from gig to gig.
Anyone who has used the AmpliTube app knows how easy to use and powerful it is. Just set the effect/amp you wish to use and you can adjust the levels hands-free from the IK Multimedia iRig Stomp Pedals large input gain knob. The active battery-powered output circuit improves headroom and reduces feedback and crosstalk when recording, which is particularly useful when you’ve selected a high-gain amplifier in the app. Like a traditional stomp box the IK Multimedia iRig Stomp features a bypass switch for including or bypassing the pedals effects in your rig.
For silent practice the IK Multimedia iRig Stomp also features a 3.5mm (1/8") jack for plugging a pair of headphones in (sometimes its nice to give the neighbours a rest).
