The Jackson Pro Series Dinky DK7 Seven String Electric Guitar in Natural Rosewood is the ultimate shred machine for guitarists who like to tear through riffs like there's no tomorrow. From the much-desired Jackson reverse headstock to the steadfast Floyd Rose bridge, endurance lies at the heart of this model. For those seeking a stylish extended range model with flawless good looks, look no further than this beauty.
Diminuitive Dinky profile
The Dinky body shape is beloved by many thanks to its remarkably comfortable playing feel. Built using okoume that is paired with a rosewood top, the body is shaped with curves in all the right place to create a figure-hugging feel. The deep double-cutaways ensure that your fretting hand is afforded access to the neck in its entirety.
Graphite reinforced maple neck
In order to guarantee the strength and resilience of the neck, Jackson have gone to great lengths to ensure it remains steadfast throughout the most energetic of performances. Fitted using an innovative "wrap-around" bolt-on construction, the neck joint is exceptionally strong, with a 3-bolt recessed plate to finish. The neck has been hand-rubbed with urethane to create a smooth and fast-playing feel across the 25.5-inch scale length.
Paired with the neck is a glorious ebony fingerboard, which is home to 24 jumbo-sized frets that are adorned with offset dot position inlays to guide your way in style. The fingerboard features Jackson's unique compound radius design, which gradually flattens towards the heel to take it from 12- to 16-inches for increased comfort when fretting chords, two-hand tapping, performing elaborate sweeps, and bending strings into oblivion.
Seymour Duncan humbuckers
The bold and lightning fast playability of the Dinky DK7 is matched with a ferocious pair of Seymour Duncan pickups. In the bridge position, you'll find the Nazgúl, a hand-built ceramic best that offers a generous blend of note articulation, a tight as you like bass response, and a bruising, aggressive edge - essentially a metaller's dream come true. In the neck position is the Seymour Duncan Sentient, a balanced and versatile pickup that produces crystal clear cleans that are perfect for intricate single note runs, harmonious chords, and lends itself particularly well to the extended low-end of the seven-string’s tuning. Again hand-built, the Sentient offers a wide dynamic range and responds beautifully when given a push.
Control over the pickups comes in the form of a 5-way selector switch, as well as master volume and tone pots.
When it comes to outstanding vibrato control, the Jackson Pro Series models rely on the Floyd Rose FRT-SS02000 double-locking tremolo with corresponding Floyd Rose locking nuts. Once you tune up with the Jackson sealed die-cast tuning machines, then lock in with the nuts, you can dive and wail like a trooper, safe in the knowledge that the Floyd Rose trem will bounce back with aplomb. At the top of the neck you'll find the Jackson pointed reverse 7-in-line headstock, proudly displaying the Jackson logo for all to see.
