Over the years, John Petrucci has tried various wah pedals and made many tweaks to try and find the perfect sweet spot. When Petrucci was younger, he listened to anything from Joe Satriani to Iron Maiden and he was eager to emulate their guitar sound. Discovering the wah pedal sound was a huge thing for Petrucci, and has since enhanced and influenced the way he plays.

One of Petrucci's favoured Cry Baby pedals was the 535Q which was where his tweaking and fine-tuning really began. It was on this pedal where he found the ideal wah sound, after many years of adjustments. Then, Petrucci was offered the chance to work alongside Richard Chycki of Dream Theater and the team who designed the Cry Baby. By working together they were able to fully develop the JP95 pedal to ensure it had the exact wah tone Petrucci had worked on previously, but with much more power and intensity.
The JP95 is built for guitarists who are intrigued by the sound their pedal makes, just like Petrucci, and for that reason the JP95 has a removable bottom whereby you can tweak the EQ pots internally to suit your needs. Furthermore, the pedal has the same controls as the Rack Wah; Volume, Q and six different inner EQ controls for you to experiment a range of sweeping frequencies between 100Hz to 3.2KHz. Handy blue LED lights indicate when the pedal is on and off which really complement the neat, durable smoked chrome chassis which is finished with a signature JP shield logo.
