The Jim Dunlop MXR Authentic Hendrix 69 Fuzz Face Mini Guitar Effects Pedal is a reincarnation of one of the Hendrix mainstay guitar pedals in a diminutive and pedalboard-friendly format. Hendrix is well known as an innovator and purveyor of effects use during the late 60s and his sonic experimentation inspired a generation of guitarists after him, continuing to be a staple of the guitar world despite his short stint in the public eye.
The Fuzz Face captures two flavours of fuzz in a single pedal with the aggressive silicon-based crunch that was used by Hendrix in the latter stages of his career being the default setting. Hitting the SI/GE switch gives you a warm, smooth saturation sound of the germanium-based fuzz he used in his early years. The dynamism of this pedal ensures that you can get a variety of tones from it, so whether you want heavy saturation or crisp warmth this pedal does both, making it a versatile addition to your pedalboard.
It's a known issue that fuzz pedals sometimes have trouble when paired with wah effects and Hendrix himself was known to buy half a dozen Fuzz Face pedals and mark the one he liked best, only to find that he didn't like the way it performed from venue to venue. Thankfully this pedal has no such issue, using buffered bypassing by default to give a greater range of tones and ensure that it plays nice with wah pedals. The 'Buff' switch lets you turn this feature on and off should you wish to go for some of the more spectacular sounding Hendrix-style effects.
The kaleidoscopic design of the Fuzz Face Mini comes courtesy of award-winning UK-based design company ILOVEDUST, ensuring this pedalboard stands out from the rest of the crowd with it's trippy, psychedelic design. The mini housing is rock solid, ensuring it will put up with any on stage roughhousing and keep going gig after gig.
The Jim Dunlop MXR Authentic Hendrix 69 Fuzz Face Mini Guitar Effects Pedal gives you massive sound in a tiny unit with a pedalboard-friendly footprint. A Hendrix-essential, this pedal embodies the spirit of the man himself and will add a vibrant and experimental sound to your pedalboard.
