The Jim Dunlop MXR Authentic Hendrix 69 Psych Series Band of Gypsys Fuzz Mini Guitar Effects Pedal is a compact pedal based upon one of Hendrix's iconic fuzz effects used during the Band of Gypsys era performances. Different to your usual Fuzz Face, this pedal was lost to history but has been reincarnated by the engineers at MXR.
This pedal differs from the regular Fuzz Face in that it has an aggressive, biting tone that's completely different from any other Fuzz Face pedal in Hendrix's arsenal. The pedal was only used at a select amount of shows between 1969 and 1970 and has been lost to history ever since. However, the clever engineering team at MXR have listened to live recording from that era to narrow down the sound to a version of the Octavio circuit that didn't have the famous octave-up effect. Now, these nasty fuzz tones are available to everyone, giving your guitar sound a sonic snarl that will perk up the ears of your listeners.
This pedal is small in stature but big in sound and the mini housing is strong enough to put up with a relentless touring schedule. The eye-catching design comes courtesy of award-winning UK-based design company ILOVEDUST, lending a stunning look to a distinctive sound. A Tone knob on the pedal lets you shape the EQ of your effect to get the sound you desire alongside Output and Fuzz knobs that control the volume and intensity of the effect.
The Jim Dunlop MXR Authentic Hendrix 69 Psych Series Band of Gypsys Fuzz Mini Guitar Effects Pedal is a different beast to your typical Fuzz Face based effect. More biting and aggressive, this pedal is perfect for getting some nasty fuzz sounds when you want to get down and dirty with your guitar.
