Kawai has always been a world leader when it comes to innovative digital piano technologies, a look at their back catalogue reveals a consistently brilliant line-up of instruments. The Kawai CA58 Digital Piano now pushes the boundaries even further. With the CA58, you now have the power of 3 world-class grand piano's at your fingertips as well as a total collection of other high-quality sounds, Bluetooth capability, audio and MIDI recording capability and that's just for starters.
Refined to the touch
To ensure that your playing experience is equal to that of an acoustic grand whilst maintaining a compact form-factor, Kawai has included their Grand Feel compact wooden-key action with ivory touch key surfaces and ‘Let-Off’ mechanism. All 88 notes on the CA58 are crafted from high-quality wood and each key throws up a micro-engineered hammer to trigger a note. Each hammer is graded in size and weight to match the heavier bass notes and lighter treble notes that you would find on an acoustic piano.
Harmonic Imaging XL
The Kawai CA58 comes with not just one 88-key sampled grand piano, but 3! The Shigeru Kawai EX, Kawai EX and Shigeru Kawai SK-5 have all been painstakingly captured by audio engineers. These superb pianos have been chosen for events such as the Chopin, Tchaikovsky, and Rubinstein international piano competitions on the strength of their sound and feel, and this has been captured for your enjoyment.
Variety is the spice of life and the CA58 contains an arsenal of sounds for you to perform with. Electric pianos, draw-bar and church organs, to strings, human choirs, and even atmospheric synth-style pads are all available through easy navigation of the top panel and 128 x 64 pixel LCD screen compete with back-light.
Further to this, you have all the wonderful benefits that digital piano's bring such as dual playing mode to layer sounds on top of each other such as piano and strings. The CA58 includes split and four hands mode making it ideal for a teacher to sit alongside a student, or for those wishing to play a different sound with each hand.
Customise your piano
Either to appease acoustics or just as a matter of taste, you may want to tweak the piano sounds in the CA58. For this, Kawai has included a virtual technician. This feature gives you the ability to change voicing and regulation, string, damper, cabinet resonances, and subtle hammer, damper, and key release noises. Your desired sound can then be stored for later use.
Connection without limits
Whilst the Kawai CA58 is an incredible instrument in its own right, it also boasts connectivity that allows it to communicate with a plethora of devices. You can record audio directly to a USB drive, connect to other musical equipment or computers via USB and now you can transmit MIDI data via Bluetooth. Kawai even has apps that work hand in hand with the CA58 - Virtual Technician app (iPad), Sound Museum app (iPhone/iPad). These apps open up deep editing capability whilst utilising the intuitive interface of an iOS device.
The Kawai CA58 Digital Piano is a compact dream machine for any player. New or experienced, young or old, the CA58 can help you blossom and enjoy the magical world of music.
