The K-300 upright acoustic piano from Kawai furthers their reputation for building outstanding instruments by combining expert craftsmanship with their pioneering research into new material technology. The K-300 will replace the incredibly popular K-3 model - named Acoustic Piano of the Year in four consecutive years, the same consistently high level of quality that you'd expect, with some impressive improvements.
The K-300 includes Kawai's ABS-Carbon technology, which combines their revolutionary ABS with carbon fibre - making up their unique Millennium III Action. This composite not only increases the strength of the parts within the piano - reportedly making them 90% stronger than traditional wooden parts - but it also had the added bonus of making them significantly lighter. This means that you can produce more explosive power with every stroke and due to the lightness of touch, you can move around the piano at lightning speeds with minimal effort. All of this contributes to the delightful playing experience and enables you to perform for a significantly longer period of time without tiring.
Kawai has pored over the smallest adjustments in order to satisfy the demands of even the most discerning of players. One example can be seen in the addition of microscopic surface texture on each jack, at the point where it meets the hammer. The jack is made out of carbon and polyacetal - which is far more sensitive and responsive than a traditional wooden jack – giving the player significantly greater dynamic control.
At the heart of the piano is an outstanding solid spruce soundboard. Each piece of spruce has been hand-selected with extreme care and must pass Kawai's rigorous testing procedure before being used in the construction of the K-300. Spruce has been chosen as it has excellent resonant properties, allowing it to produce a large sound with minimum effort, allowing the soundboard to transfer the instructions from the keys with absolute precision, the utmost clarity and complete articulation.
The resilient keys are made from a combination of acrylic and phenol responding perfectly during each performance, returning to their original position with impeccable timing. The keys are weighted, balanced and adjusted according to hammer size so that an even touch and feel is assured across the keyboard. Each key-top offers a smooth surface area to play on, whilst absorbing perspiration and natural oils to prevent unwanted slipping during a performance. The height of the K-300 is slightly taller than that of the other piano in the series (K-200), which gives it a more robust sustain and 'fuller' sound quality. The K-300 has additional features such as the “Soft Fall” fallboard, which has a dual-damping mechanism to protect player’s hands and the piano’s finish. There is also an extended music stand that allows you to spread out your sheet music whilst you're practising or performing.
The K-300 is completed in a polished black finish and would make an excellent addition to any home, classroom or teaching studio. This delightful piano has been specially designed and developed to exceed the performance requirements and expectations of even the most discerning of pianists.
Starting on 1st October 2014, a comprehensive 3 Year Warranty will be included with this product. During years 1, 2, and 3, repairs will be covered on-site at the customers' home - this includes parts and labour.
