Building on the success of the Monotron, Korg have brought out two more palm-sized synthesisers: the Korg Monotron DUO and Monotron Delay. The DUO offers Monotron fans dual oscillation and cross modulation, along with the ease of use the synth is known for. Its this ease of use that makes it so popular, with casual users able to get to get to grips with it instantly and pros able to make melodies and amazing effects to use in their performance.
Dual oscillator design
The Korg Monotron DUO Analogue Ribbon Synthesisers dual oscillators can be tuned together to strengthen the analog tone or they can be tuned at intervals for different effects and soloing. The synth X-MOD can be used to add anything from a mild to an extreme edge to your sound: from vibrato to metallic.
The original Korg Monotron went a long way to convicing many purists that ribbon keyboards could be fun to play, and that concept has now been expanded on. The Korg Monotron DUO now also features the option to switch the keyboards scales at the touch of a button, with the following options: Chromatic, Major, Minor, or Off.
VCF Filter for All
Originally featuring on Korgs MS10 and MS20 over 30 years ago, and still very much in demand today, the VCF filter offers amazing dynamics and severe aggression… and now is now available on the Korg Monotron DUO. This sound-enriching filter is a powerful synth tool that allows you to change the frequency or tone and emphasis of your sound to make it your own.
Add effects to external instruments
You can apply the Korg Monotron DUO Synthesisers tone-bending effects to anything that connect via an AUX input, such as: guitar, a KAOSSILATOR or digital audio player.
Compact in size and powered by just two AAA batteries the Korg Monotron DUO is seriously portable. Sharing your sound with friends is simple with the built-in speaker or share with everyone by hooking an external amplifier or PA. Alternatively the headphone output allows you to play/practice in silence.
