The Laney NEXUS SLS 500-Watt Bass Amplifier Head is the ideal solution for bassists who want a lightweight powerhouse that is portable enough to be taken anywhere. Whether you're practising into the wee hours, laying down tracks or performing to an adoring audience, the NEXUS SLS is as versatile as you could hope for and packs a mighty 500 Watts of power to play with.
Raw tube power, Solid-State consistency
The NEXUS SLS pairs raw tube power with solid-state reliability for smooth tones at any volume. In the preamp you'll find a trio of ECC83 tubes that can be pushed hard to produce delightfully raucous overdriven tones, whilst the power amp section handles the output beautifully.
Across the control panel you'll find ready access to a wide variety of tone-shaping knobs that allow you to attenuate and tailor the amp response to suit any and every musical style. From the choice of Hi or Lo inputs that accommodate both active and passive powered pickup setups, with a corresponding Gain control and peak indicator to prevent unwanted clipping. The four-position Shape control allows you to quickly dial in the ideal EQ settings, whilst the Bass, Sweep, Middle and Treble controls make it easy to zero in on specific frequency bands.
The Tilt control allows you to increase overall mid to high frequencies for greater presence in live performances. The Touch setting encourages a more expressive response for increased resonance in the low end and greater breadth for highs, alternatively you can dial is back for a tighter and less rounded response. The Interval, Focus and Space controls allow you to add subtle effects to your tone from added 5th notes to octave down with perfect tracking, added high frequency harmonics for synth-like sounds, and swelling hall reverb or articulate chorus.
Across the rear panel of the SLS you'll find a plethora of connectivity options to play with. There are independent inputs for connecting a tuner pedal, headphones for silent practise and recording with corresponding level pot and USB or Amp switch. There's an FX Loop with Send and Return jacks with switchable nominal levels or a bypass option.
The USB connection affords the ability to record directly into your DAW of choice, simplifying the process to make it exceptionally easy and quick to get your ideas down. For those who like the option to Re-Amp their signal to adjust the recorded signal on the fly, the USB connection allows you to simultaneously record a dry signal to the left channel and a full amp affected sound to the right channel.
The Neutrik Combi jack/Speakon connection allows you to hook up a speaker cab of your choice.
