The Mackie Thump TH-18S Active Subwoofer offers the perfect combination of power, performance, and portability. Wherever your music takes you, the Thump is on hand to give your bass the tight low-end response it deserves. The wizards at Mackie have included a range of features to ensure that everything you need is built-in to give you maximum control.
In order to deliver a fluid response from the 18-inch transducer, the Thump TH-18S is powered by an economically designed Class-D Fast Recovery amplifier, which works alongside Mackie's active electronics to ensure that the relationship between the amp and transducer is a harmonious one. The highly efficient Linkwitz-Riley circuitry is tasked with handling the crossover signal at 125Hz, guaranteeing a consistent and smooth transition.
Delivering 1000 Watts of peak power, the internal circuitry carries out its duties immaculately, delivering a sweet response no matter how aggressively you push it. In order to protect your signal from going too far - and eliminating the chance of overheating the amplifier - the TH-18S is equipped with overload protection circuitry, which reduces the signal to an appropriate level.
The Mackie Thump TH-18S is equipped with a pair of XLR inputs, as well as two stereo XLR outputs – High Pass and Full Range -, which enables you to use this sub in a wide range of PA arrangements. You can connect the outputs to another sub, a pair of loudspeakers, with a level switch to control the signal level at the input to the built-in power amplifier. Depending on your loudspeaker arrangement, there is also a Polarity switch that allows you to invert the signal polarity to meet your set-up’s requirements.
As we've come to expect from Mackie, the Thump Series speakers are built to take the punishment that comes with life on the road. The solid plywood enclosure protects all internal components, with textured black catalysed polyurethane paint to protect and preserve the finish. The perforated front metal grille prevents unwanted damage occurring to the transducer. Loading in and out of venues is a breeze thanks to the conveniently placed carry handles on each side of the cabinet.
