From the company that brought us Farida guitars, Marina shares the same ethos of supplying high-quality instruments and excellent value for money. This particular model, the Marina MD-10SE Electro Acoustic Guitar, offers the easy playability and great plugged-in tone of the MD-06E, but replaces laminate with a solid spruce soundboard.

Solid Spruce Top, Mahogany Back & Sides

The MD-10SE starts things off with that most popular of acoustic guitar body shapes, the dreadnought. It is with reason that this shape is so widely used. It provides real versatility, lending itself well to pretty much any genre, with its capacious dimensions providing a big voice and plenty of projection to your performances, whether you play finger style or concentrate on chord work.

The choice of woods offer a classic duo that bring a palette of brightness and resonance, from the solid spruce used to create the guitar’s top, matched with the characteristic warmth and power of the mahogany in place at the back and sides. The body has been satin-finished to allow the body to breath and resonant freely, whilst also giving you an unrestricted view of those beautiful woods.

Giving you a playing surface that matches the incredible sound of this guitar, the Marina MD-10SE has been fitted with very playable nato neck, topped by a sonokelin fingerboard with dot inlays.

Onboard Electronics and Controls

So you can take the Marina MD-10SE Electro Acoustic Guitar to the stage, or if you just wish to add effects to your practice, an ELAN-4TN pre-amp has been fitted. Ready to be hooked up to a P.A system or amp, this addition allows you to accurately amplify the guitar’s tone, whilst giving you an easy-to-access control interface. At the upper bout of the guitar you have: Volume, 3-band (consisting of Bass/Middle/Treble), and a Presence switch. Furthermore you have a couple of handy extras onboard, these being: a low-battery indicator and a built-in tuner.

Whether you’re playing solo at home, or taking to the stage on a regular basis, the Marina MD-10SE electro acoustic guitar is the perfect practise and performance partner.

Posted on 12/10/2015 by Dave P My budget was £300 and when the guys at Dawsons showed me this one, I thought it was a £400 guitar because it sounds like one. It feels so easy to play and sounds fantastic, I play this one more than any of my other guitars. The preamp is very versatile with controls for bass, treble and presence. Unplugged it sounds awesome. Great value for money.
Posted on 19/01/2013 by Patrick This guitar is very under-priced for what the quality is. The pickup is brilliant. Best guitar for value for money.
Posted on 15/03/2012 by Gobsmacked I went into Dawsons in Huddersfield to try out a £400 Yamaha I've had my eye on for a while and stumbled upon this little beauty. From the second I picked it up everything just felt "right". The action is easy yet responsive, the neck feels great (I mean really great), the pre-amp is very good for a guitar at this price and I think I'd describe the unplugged natural acoustic tone as "expensive". I honestly thought it had the wrong price tag on it and since I've got it home I've hardly stopped playing it. A massive thanks to Richard for being good enough to turn me on to this, even though it's obviously a lot cheaper than the guitar I was going to buy from him. Its good to see everything isn't always just about money to everyone.
