The Merida Diana DC-15BK is a classical guitar constructed using high quality tonewoods offering great value for money. Made with precision and exquisite care, this model is finished in an elegant black with luxurious binding.

The solid cedar top of the Merida Diana DC-15BK makes sure you get great tone from this guitar, allowing it to project with plenty of volume and resonance. The back and sides of this classical guitar are made of laminated mahogany which outputs impressive tone and great construction, while the neck is also made of mahogany.

Mahogany is a widely used tonewood for constructing a neck, and has a smooth, comfortable playing feel in your hand while also giving some warmth to the classical guitar's overall sound. A rosewood fingerboard rounds the Merida DC-15BK off nicely and makes the playing experience very comfortable.

Named after a temple in the city of Merida, the Diana guitars range all feature locking tuners and Graphtech Black Tusq XL nut and saddle for tuning precision and improved reliability, even when you're making lots of quick movements along the strings.

Impregnated with PTFE, the Graphtech nut and saddle make string movement easy which is practically essential for keeping the guitar in tune, meaning the guitar remains completely reliable as you play. In addition, the hardware is said to improve the tone of the Merida Diana DC-15BK classical guitar by encouraging rich harmonics in to your tone for a well-rounded sound.

The Merida Diana DC-15BK Classical Guitar is given a slick black finish and is complemented by the natural wooden body binding as well as a soundhole rosette, offering a neat visual aesthetic. Delivering a superb classical playing experience for enthusiasts that want something a little sleeker than a standard acoustic, the Merida Diana DC-15BK Classical Guitar in black makes an excellent choice at a very modest price.

Very easy player, my constant travel companion and travel guitar. Not terrific projection, laminated mahogany sides and back, very good quality tuners. Very playable. Experienced classical and even flamenco players will love it as a travel and practice instrument. A fine student guitar as well. I own many fine instruments, but this one gets played by the couch every day.
Posted on 27/02/2013 by Excellent guitar for £330. I've been playing this constantly for 3 days and I'm stunned by how much guitar I got for my money. This sounds and looks a lot better than the price would tell, and the attention to detail is amazing. For example, inside the guitar there's a laser etched logo that you can only see at a certain angle. You'd only know it's there if you looked for it. That makes it feel a little bit special. The finish is not far off flawless and the tolerances of the cuts in the wood at the nut are as good as a Sanchez. The PTFE tuners, nut etc are unusual but are, to me, far better than boring white or ivory. On this black model they look the business. The metal tuner holders aren't just silver, they're a beautiful titanium colour and are very high quality.

Sound? Well.. I think that's subjective, but it snaps and hums very smoothly, in my opinion, and I'm hearing its resonance and looking at the price tag, still unable to reconcile the two! It has a nice, fat sound and its range, right up the last fret, is clear and punchy.

For £330 I doubt you'll be disappointed if you buy this guitar. It's a beauty. I'll be looking at Merida acoustics over Yamaha when it's time to upgrade my APX.
