Details

The Merida Diana DG15-SPOMCES Electro Acoustic Guitar combines an orchestra model (OM) body shape with a solid cedar top, maple back & sides, and a Merida/Fishman Standard Preamp system. Although it's down to the player’s own opinion, the Merida Diana DG15-SPOMCES guitar’s shape; orchestra model, is generally considered to be comfortable to play, especially when sitting down, due to a waist that is thinner than that of a standard dreadnought. This body shape is teamed up with a cutaway, to give easy access to the upper frets, which is even more of a feature in this style of body, as its generally suited to fingerpickers, though it also crosses quite happily into strumming styles.

Matched to the purpose of the guitar the Merida DG15-SPOMCES features a solid cedar top, which, with its quick response, is a favourite amongst finger style players. Tonally the cedar offers a warm, balanced sound, which works in perfect partnership with the spalted maple back & sides, allowing this warmth to stay at the forefront of the guitars tone. As well as looking resplendent with its spalted patterning, the maple does not overly colour the sound of the top, while also bringing its own emphasis to the mid-range and treble, and bringing a fast attack to the Merida Diana DG15-SPOMCES.

Joining the specially selected body woods of the Merida Diana DG 15-SPOMCES Acoustic Guitar is a mahogany neck topped by a pau ferro fingerboard.

The Merida Diana DG15-SPOMCES is set up perfectly with a set of tuners crafted by Der Jung, whose fifty years of manufacturing guitar machine heads sees them being relied on by Yamaha, among other big names.

Allowing you to amplify your sound without tainting your tone the Merida Diana DG15-SPOMCES Electro Acoustic has been outfitted with a Merida/Fishman Standard Preamp system.

In addition to giving you the capability to hook up to an amp the Merida/Fishman Standard Preamp system is also set up with a number of useful features. From the guitar you can control Master volume, Treble, and Bass, along with having a Phase Switch. There is also a built-in tuner, with LED indicator, allowing you to see its status more easily perhaps when on a dark stage.

The Merida Diana DG15-SPOMCES is a superb electro acoustic guitar which employs choice tonewoods for its construction in order to produce a full-bodied, dynamic range of sounds.

Posted on 06/10/2018 by I went in looking for a slightly cheaper model from Epiphone but walked out with the Merida. The difference between the two was night and day. The Merida is simply amazing to play and the sound is on another level. To be honest I feel like I’ve robbed the store at £229, it’s probably one of the nicest instruments I own. I can understand why the sell in the US at more than twice the price.
