Borrowing from a number of technologies, the filter-based Moog MiniFooger Drive Pedal offers a drive section that utilises a Moog Ladder Filter, boutique FET amplifiers, and classic OTAs to offer high reactivity to your playing. With a bi-polar tone control and sweep-able filter working in harmony with gain, the pedal offers customisable sound that’ll take you wherever you want to go. Engage tonal and dirty wah sounds by activating the Peak switch and connecting an expression pedal. This pedal has it all.
Overview of Controls
Set low, the Gain control gives a cleaner tone with a smooth break up. As it is increased, so does the OTA and 4-pole Moog Ladder filter, producing more aggression and extreme reaction to playing dynamics.
The Drive toggle switch alters the range of the Gain control, with the down position setting the range to +6.8dB to +48dB, and the up position setting it to +16dB to +57dB.
The Filter control works with Tone and Peak to give more focus to your tone. With Peak deactivated Filter can reduce top end and add heft to an amp, with Peak activated Filter can boost low, mid, or high frequencies.
As discussed, the Peak switch interacts with other controls to give you more options. Activated, you get a +15dB boost at the Filter cut-off and mid and high range frequencies accents. Hook an expression pedal up to the Moog MF Drive Pedal and you’ll gain access to even more performance possibilities.
Sent through a boutique FET, the Tone control gives your sound a Lowpass, Mid-Scoop or Highpass voice. Starting off dark turning the dial will take you through a more scooped, American to British sound until finally ending at a present and articulate sound with a smooth, rolled off low-end.
Finally to the Output, which has been set up to give you massive variation, swinging dramatically from clean to dirty, which, with the proper gain-staging, can act as a boost or wah.
EXPRESSION PEDAL INPUT
Assigned to Filter cut-off, the Moog MiniFooger Drive Pedal’s expression pedal input affords more control for swells and a tuneable dirty wah.
