If you're looking for a system that allows you to spin MP3s with the same control as you'd expect to get from vinyl/CD, then Native Instruments bring the goods with the awesome Traktor Scratch Audio 6 interface, time code vinyl and CDs - as well as the excellent Traktor software. Whether you're a bedroom DJ or a Pro, super-tight control is a must, and the Traktor Scratch A6 gives you total creative mastery over your mix.
As you'd expect from the guys at Native Instruments, the system has been designed with emphasis being placed on getting on with making music rather than figuring out how to set everything up, with plug-and-play connectivity at the fore. The Traktor Audio 6 interface offers 6 audio inputs and 6 audio outputs of the highest quality. Simply hook up your existing vinyl or CD decks, mixer, etc. to the system via the interface and you’re good to go.
In the pack are the awesome Remix Decks, allowing you to control MP3 music files using any combination of turntables, CD decks and DJ Controllers. Therefore, whatever setup you have in place or are already used to, the Traktor Scratch A6 fits perfectly into your existing arrangement. The Remix Decks give you full creative control over loops and one-shot samples, allowing you to capture loops in the moment, so that injecting your own unique style into each and every mix is as seamless as you'd expect it to be. Thanks to the precise Native Scratch time code vinyl and low-latency drivers, you can rest assured that vinyl response is airtight.
The ingenious Traktor Pro 3 software includes many awesome features, amongst them automatic tempo detection and SoftSync for intuitive beat matching. Not only that but over 30 brilliant performance effects are included, allowing you to put your own stamp on the mix. The Hi-Res TruWave waveforms indicate frequency specific colours - differentiating between snare, kick and other instruments -, which enable you to visually (as well as aurally) mix tracks with incredible accuracy. Another visual cue has been enabled on the Audio 6 unit, with LED indicators that notify you as to whether you’re in Time code or Thru mode, where your input/output signals are going, whether the connections are in Phono/line mode and whether you’re powered using DC or USB.
Traktor has many useful features built-in, but one that will stand out to DJs who started out in vinyl will be the Crate Flick cover-art browsing feature. Album artwork is displayed in relation to tracks in the library and is loaded along with each selected track. So for those who're used to locating tracks or who remember tracks based on album artwork, this handy little tool will make life so much easier. Not only that but full iTunes integration means that accessing your entire music library is clean and simple.
A direct headphone output jack allows you to take a direct feed out with an individual level control. Main outputs allow you to export a direct feed out to an external device, i.e. for recording or sending to a PA system.
The Native Instruments Traktor Scratch Audio 6 system has everything you need to live your vinyl passion through a fully integrated digital system. No matter what level you’re at, only your own creativity can hold you back.
