The Redwood RS1 beginner's electric guitar is an excellent introduction to the world of guitar playing. Thanks to the lightweight, ergonomically designed, double-cutaway body profile, the slender yet accommodating neck, versatile pickup and electronics' arrangement, and resilient hardware, this is an affordable model that punches well above its weight.
Lightweight and Comfortable Body Shape
As previously noted, the body has been ergonomically designed with shapely contours that allow it to rest snugly as you play, guaranteeing a comfortable playing position for everyone. The body is built using lightweight basswood, which provides a fat but well-balanced tonality. The midrange has plenty of clout, but is tempered by a subtle breathiness that ensures highs and lows are nicely rounded. Thanks to the basswood's power, the body yields a wide dynamic range. The lower bout beneath the pickups is protected from knicks and scrapes by a 3-play white pickguard, which also compliments the gloss sunburst finish nicely.
Slender, Easy to Navigate Neck
Fitted to the body is a bolt-on maple neck, shaped to a comfortable to grip "C" shape neck. Maple has the enviable properties of being both supple - great for sustain - as well as firm, which provides a secure feel in the hand - great for boosting your confidence in its ability to perform well. Paired with the neck is a sonokelin fingerboard, home to 22-frets that are adorned with white dot position inlays that aid you as you navigate the fingerboard.
Versatile Pickup Arrangement
The Redwood RS1 is fitted with three Wilkinson single-coil pickups in the neck, middle, and bridge positions respectively. A 5-way pickup switch allows you to select pickups individually, or create subtle blends of two or three at a time - depending on the tone you desire. The range of tonal options on offer means that no matter what genre or style of music you're playing, you can readily extract the perfect sound with ease. Using the master volume and two tone pots to sculpt your output exactly as you wish.
Fitted to the body is a single-direction tremolo in the bridge, which allows you to infuse subtle vibrato into your playing. The bridge provides a seamless connection between the strings and body for an anchored playing feel. The tuning machines uphold tuning integrity, whilst working with the nut to maintain string tension and tuning stability.
Beginners will find the Redwood RS1 is an excellent choice as a first full-size electric guitar, making learning guitar accessible for any age group. This well designed instrument is very versatile, and allows you to play a range of musical styles from Jazz and Funk, to Rock and Metal. Wherever your musical inspiration comes from, the Redwood RS1 electric guitar is a fantastic stepping stone on the path to stardom.
