The Redwood RS1 Beginner’s electric guitar is a fantastic model for new players, those who prefer a model with scaled-down dimensions, and also those looking for an excellent guitar to travel and practise with. Combining solid tonewoods with a familiar double-cutaway profile, the playability of this guitar makes it a joy to perform with.
Comfortable Double-Cutaway Profile
The body has been crafted using basswood, a tonewood that is lightweight in feel yet produces a generous level of sustain. Basswood is highly regarded thanks to its balance of tones from low to high, offering a highly versatile tonal palette to play with. Therefore, the RS1 benefits from having a superb tonality, whilst remaining very comfortable to wield – giving players the best of both worlds.
In an effort to ensure the RS1 is very comfortable to play, the body is shaped with elegant contours that enable it to hug closely to your body. The upper bout is gently rounded to create the perfect resting position for your picking arm. Whether you find that you prefer to wear it high, or sling it low, the RS1 always sits perfectly. The body is finished in an eye-catching pink, whilst a 3-ply white pickguard offers a stark visual contrast and offers protection against unwanted pick scrapes.
Slender, Easy to Navigate Neck
Fitted to the body via bolt-on construction is a solid maple neck, which is shaped to a comfortable “C” profile that makes it easy to slide your hand along at speed. The slender feel of the neck is backed up by the reinforced bolt-on construction to instil confidence in its ability to perform and respond well to vigorous playing. Married to the neck is a sonokelin fingerboard, which carries 21-frets that have white dot position inlays to aid you as you navigate the fingerboard.
Versatile Pickup Arrangement
The Redwood RS1 is fitted with three Wilkinson single-coil pickups in the neck, middle, and bridge (offset) positions respectively. A 5-way pickup switch allows you to select pickups individually, or create subtle blends of two or three at a time - depending on the tone you desire. Using the master volume and two tone pots, you can sculpt your output exactly as you wish. Whether you're looking to execute intricate jazz chops, master the art of country chicken pickin', or shred like a pro, the RS1 has tones to suit every musical genre and style.
Fitted to the body is a single-direction tremolo in the bridge, which allows you to infuse subtle vibrato into your playing. The bridge provides a seamless connection between the strings and body for an anchored playing feel. The tuning machines uphold tuning integrity, whilst working with the nut to maintain string tension and tuning stability.
