The Redwood ST-Mini Electric Guitar is a cool model that is perfect for beginners, your players and those who prefer a model with scaled-down dimensions. By combining excellent build quality with solid tonewoods - whilst incorporating a very familiar double-cutaway body shape -, Redwood has ensured that the ST-Mini will become a firm favourite for many guitarists.
Cool alder body
The body has been crafted using alder, a wonderful tonewood that is favoured thanks to its finely balanced timbre. The lowds it yields are subtle, with slight emphasis on the mid-range, and sparkling highs that are filled with clarity. Whatever style of music that you play - from heavy duty rock 'n' roll, smooth blues, choppy jazz licks, or playful country -, alder is more than happy to oblige by delivering articulate tones every time. As well as boasting an enviable tonal range, alder is also a very lightweight wood, which makes the ST-Mini incredibly comfortable to play.
The body of ST-Mini has been shaped to that of a very popular model, with a smoothly contoured design that is a joy to perform with. The deep double cutaway profile makes it very easy to access the neck and fingerboard in their entirety, giving players the confidence to roam and play in total freedom.
Canadian hard maple neck
Paired with the body is a Canadian hard maple neck, which is fitted using the strong and reliable bolt-on construction method. The scaled-down dimensions of the neck makes it very easy for smaller fingers to navigate. The back of the neck has been treated with a matte finish to reduce the chance of stickiness from affecting the playability of the neck, and promote a smooth and fast playing feel. Married to the neck is a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, with dot position inlays to guide your way. Rosewood creates a luxurious playing feel, whilst holding up well to consistent playing so that you can pick up and play anytime.
The ST-Mini is equipped with a single-coil pickup in the neck position, and a humbucker in the bridge position. The single-coil offers a chunky and expressive output, which offers a little sizzle that sits just perfectly for playing blues, jazz, funk, rock, etc. The humbucker gives a bit more grunt, and a thick mid to low-end energy that makes it great for cranking out some fat, overdriven snarl. Alternatively, you can dial is back and appreciate the smoothness of the output with exceptional clarity throughout.
Control over the pickups comes in the form of single master volume and tone controls, with a three-way pickup selector switch that enables you to select either pickup individually, or combine the output of both for a wider and fuller sounding output.
Hardware and finish
The headstock is fitted with sealed die-cast tuning machines, which secure strings firmly so that once you have set your desired tuning, it remains that way throughout each and every performance. The body is home to a vintage-style steel tremolo bridge, which creates a seamless connection between the strings and body to optimise intonation and sustain, whilst allowing you to have effortless tremolo control as you play.
