The Roland DJ-202 DJ Controller for Serato DJ offers the features of a professional-grade controller in a solid yet portable unit. Adhering to the same principles as its larger siblings - DJ505 and flagship DJ-808 -, the DJ-202 is as flexible as you are so that whether you're working in the studio or blowing minds on the stage, everything you need is within touching distance. As we've come to expect from Roland, the DJ-202 is built like a tank and up to the task, whatever you throw its way.
Integrated TR drum machine
The world of music has never been the same since the TR-808 and TR-909 were released, redefining the landscape and becoming synonymous with genres from hip-hop, house, techno, and electro, through to modern day styles such as trap. Thanks to Roland's ACB (Analog Circuit Behaviour) technology, the DJ-202 features the same legendary sounds of those original workhorses, whilst featuring unique independent controls that allow you to mould each sample to your own taste.
Immersive Serato DJ integration
Roland's partnership with Serato DJ means that not only do you have a fully-fledged standalone performance controller, but you can remix, produce, and perform all at once. As well as being used to program drum patterns from the TR drum machine, the internal 16-step sequencer can be used to trigger the Serato Sampler - accessible via the performance pads -, enabling beats to be synced to your Serato library. The workflow of the software has been matched with dedicated buttons for loop control, Serato Flip, hot cues, FX and key sync. Not only that, but if you purchase Serato DVS (sold separately), then full DVS support is provided.
Scratch-friendly work surface
For those who like to scratch, absolute tactile control is vital. Roland knows this, which is why the large, low-latency platters with brushed aluminium plates feel and respond as they do - perfectly! You can rest assured that no matter what you want to throw at this beauty, your performance will be translated flawlessly. You can even switch between four Serato decks with the Deck Select button, giving you greater depth to showcase your talents.
Works fine by itself, plays well with others
Roland has equipped the DJ-202 with a range of connectivity options to make live performances and recording, delightfully simple. The MIDI output allows you to sync any MIDI-supported external hardware or instruments to the internal sequencer or Serato DJ Intro. If you upgrade to Serato DJ then you have access to 32 sync-able sampler slots across four banks, with a plethora of recording options, a full suite of iZotope FX, and so much more. The Master outputs enable you to connect to monitors/speakers, whilst the USB output enables you to connect directly to your PC/Mac. The Mic input features onboard reverb and echo FX, with low-cut EQ and a noise gate for drops, voiceovers, and external vocals.
