The Roland MC-101 Groovebox is a professional production tool that's compact enough for you to produce and perform anywhere, anytime without complications. With many of the features of its bigger sibling, the MC-707, the MC-101 houses a variety of sounds that will inspire you, as well as having plenty of versatility to let you go about creating your own music.

Pocket Production

The Roland MC-101 Groovebox is small yet solid, light yet awash with features and functionality. It will run for around five hours on four AA batteries, ensuring you can design sounds, create drum patterns and compose phrases anywhere you like. This isn't a notebook for your ideas, it's a fully-fledged studio that's pocket-sized. Produce tracks on the move, make backing tracks or accompaniment for live performance, whatever your needs, the MC-101 has got it accounted for. You can connect the MC-101 to your computer, enabling you to record an entire mix or all four parts to the individual tracks of your DAW. Alternatively, you can sample sounds from your DAW to generate backing tracks, stems or your favourite software synth.

Focused Functionality

The MC-101 has a four-track sequencer that was designed for the modern electronic and dance-focused music producer. 16 RGB pads let you create drum, bass and synthesizer patterns to produce your own original music. You can combine loops and one-shots with your own MIDI sequences and imported audio recordings. You can sync any imported audio with the MC-101's tempo or process it with the arsenal of onboard effects and controls, whether that's your voice or other instruments. A single cable is all you need to hook it up to your DAW, opening up a whole new world of sonic possibilities.

Portable Patterns and Phrases

There are built-in beats, phrases and sounds crafted by renowned artists and sound designers and the MC-101 is part of an expandable platform so you can add new content whenever you like. All the classics are here, including the TR-808, TR-909, Juno-106 and the SH-101. A wide range of effects with each track having independent effects processors ensures that your music sounds polished and produced. Whether it's Chorus, Delay and Verbs to give your tracks shimmer and width or distortion, overdrive, filters and bit crushers to help you layer texture there's an effect for any situation here, all locked down by a master bus compressor to really get the mix pumping.

The Roland MC-101 Groovebox is a professional, lightweight production tool that will be equally at home on the road as it is in the studio. Craft your sounds anywhere and everywhere with high-quality sounds, sequencing and a host of additional features. Perfect for modern digital and hybrid sounds, the MC-101 also has a tone of old-school legendary Roland rhythm machines and synthesizers inside, ensuring the sound you want is wherever you need it to be.
