The Roland NE-1 Noise Eater Isolation Foot has been designed for a single purpose, which it does to great effect: reduce the noise made when playing Roland V-Drums.
Although acoustically V-Drum kits are noted for being extremely quiet, allowing you to play whenever you want with a pair of headphones plugged in, the physical action of using kick and hi-hat pedals still creates unwanted sound. Although not a problem in many circumstances, when using the kits in a multi-level building this can still create noise and vibration, generally followed by a wrap at the door and the raised voices of those without the taste to enjoy your music. To avoid this very situation Roland have produced the Noise Eater range, of which, along with the NE-10 Isolation Board, the Roland NE-1 Isolation Foot is a part.
Through its innovative design and powerful isolating properties, the use of Roland NE-1 Isolation Feet can reduce the transfer of noise by 75% (approximately), compared to pedals that are not equipped with NE-1. As is suggested by the name, the Roland NE-1 Isolation Foot is a compact foot, with a unique damper structure, which you place under the relevant stand to ensure sound isolation.
A Roland NE-1 should be placed under each leg of mesh-head kick pads and hi-hat Stands, with a NE-10 under each kick and hi-hat pedal, for maximum effectiveness.
