Roland have once again managed to deliver excellence in the form of the Roland RD-2000 Stage Piano, this latest generation of the long-running RD stage piano series is equipped with dual sound engines, the latest PHA-50 progressive hammer-action keyboard, and advanced controller features, making it top-level for live and studio performance. This groundbreaking digital instrument will take the limits off of what you thought possible from a portable stage piano.
Incredible dual sound engines
The RD-2000 contains not 1 but 2 sound engines, one is dedicated to acoustic piano recreation and incorporates Roland’s latest V-Piano technologies for unparalelled authentic tone and with full-keyboard polyphony, players can deliver sophisticated piano performance with absolutely no compromises. A second sound engine with a huge 128-note polyphony delivers the extensive electric piano library that includes classic EPs from the 1970s, plus all-new recreations of the classic Roland RD-1000 and MKS-20 - this is in addition to another 1100 ensemble sounds on board covering all musical styles to date.
The best weighted keyboard yet
The RD-2000 comes with Rolands top-spec PHA-50 progressive hammer-action keyboard with escapement. This is the perfect platform for playing the RD-2000’s responsive acoustic and electric pianos with a level of definition that will make your jaw drop. The keyboard features hybrid keys constructed of wood and moulded materials to deliver a truly authentic feel and amazing durability.
The RD-2000 offers the most extensive and dynamic controller features of any RD-series piano to date and is equipped to command a large stage or studio setup with intuition. A newly designed interface offers a massive range of control including scene memories, dynamic LED knobs that react with speed and precision, sliders, eight internal/external zones, and so much more making the RD-2000 capable of being your command centre.
Built in Audio Interface
Via the built-in USB audio/MIDI interface, it’s easy to integrate computer-based software instruments with further builds on the already massive creative capacity of the RD-2000. You can control them with zones to work alongside the internal sounds and route audio through the RD-2000 getting your perfect mix. In addition to main balanced XLR stereo outputs and ¼-inch jacks, there’s also an assignable stereo sub output for flexible sound routing on stage, which your sound engineer will thank you for!
Add to all of the this built in powerful FX engine, 200 rhythms and powerful sequencer capable of writing direct to USB and you have a recording and performance machine that will exceed the demands of even the most discerning professional. In short, the Roland RD-2000 Stage Piano is nothing short of incredible.

In other words, you’re not just triggering a sample. The subtleties in the intonation between the sound, under velocity and that beautifully crafted physics of
the graded hammer action is second to none. It’s the piano by which others should be judged and in my humble opinion nothing can touch it for sound quality and playability.
