Decades after the original TR-90 drum machine was launched, it’s influence can still be heard and felt! As part of the Roland Boutique series, that coveted 909 sound is now available to everyone via the ultra-compact TR-09. This faithful recreation of a classic features the same front-panel layout and easy to operate user interface that the original was renowned for delivering the same glorious, pounding beats of the TR-909. This super affordable and highly portable machine is powered by Roland’s ACB technology giving you the power to really move people. From the live situation to the studio, this has everything you loved about the TR-909 and brings it into the modern age, integrating 4 separate outputs via USB audio, extra control and so much more.
Coveted 909 power through Roland ACB Technology
Through the use of Roland’s ACB (Analog Circuit Behaviour) technology, which is found in the popular AIRA series, the analogue kick, snare and tom drum sounds along with the six-bit samples for hi-hats and cymbals that the TR-909 was so famous for are faithfully recreated. This provides the user with that unmistakable and highly influential TR-909 sound.
Fine tune your performances
The TR-REC style of programming within the TR-909 can be found in the TR-09 providing users with a choice of Step or Tap write modes. However, the new TR-09 gives players the power to change modes while the pattern continues, a feature that has only been made possible today. In addition, the TR-09 sequencer has 16 steps as well as 16 sub-steps providing greater control over your performances and you can get to grips with the Shuffle/Flam parameter via the buttons or display and rotary encoder should you need greater control.
Talking to your Daw and external gear
You can connect your TR-09 to your DAW as it acts as a high-quality 24-bit/96 kHz audio interface, via the USB port. Send individual drums to separate channels and save your favourite settings and sequencer patterns via USB backup. In addition, you can connect the TR-09 with your other gear and control everything via MIDI ports or USB. This makes it an impressive unit especially considering it’s just over 30cm long! For those who want that unmistakeable TR-909 sound with modern capabilities, the Roland TR-09 is a must have.
