Since the birth of the Jazzmaster in the late 1950s, this guitar has been a firm favourite for many musicians due to its slick vintage appearance and great sound. The Squier Affinity Jazzmaster is a modern take on a classic model that still retains the appeal for the likes of jazz and blues players, but also for musicians of other genres.
The Jazzmaster has an iconic offset body shape and is constructed entirely from alder, a popular tonewood for Squier and Fender. Alder produces well-balanced dynamic tones that respond accurately to how you play. The sonic definition that comes from the Affinity Jazzmaster is very fitting for blues and rock musicians.
Firmly joined to the body is a one-piece 25.5 inch scale length maple neck with a smooth, satin finish and a comfortable "C" shape profile. The neck is topped with a 12 inch radius rosewood fingerboard which hosts 22 medium frets that are decorated with white dot inlays to guide you through each transition with confidence.
Squier have selected a powerful duo to amplify the Affinity Jazzmaster in the form of two Standard Humbuckers. Humbucker pickups are well-known for their huge sound, and this is certainly the case with the Jazzmaster. Placed in the neck and bridge positions, you can change pickup combinations to suit your sound or playing style using the 3-way pickup switch blade in conjunction with the Master Volume and Tone controls.
The lower bout of the Jazzmaster is fitted with a robust 6-saddle non-tremolo bridge. The bridge works alongside the die-cast sealed tuning machines on the '68 Stratocaster-style headstock to keep tuning as precise as possible while ensuring sustain is prolonged.
The beautiful offset Jazzmaster body is decorated with a protective 3-ply black/white/black pickguard and chrome hardware. All the versatile, wide-ranging tones of an authentic Jazzmaster at an affordable price are here in the Squier Affinity Jazzmaster HH.

I’ve given up trying to learn with my acoustic in favour of this little gem. I didn’t pick this because my favourite rocker plays one because they don’t. I picked it because it felt right.
