As part of their 2014 roster, Squier have reintroduced the uncompromising style of the 1970's model with the Classic Vibe Precision Bass 70s in a sumptuous black finish. Packing power and precision into such a sleek body is not easy to do, but Squier have done so with effortless grace.
Exquisite P-Bass Design
The Classic Vibe Precision bass 70s has been crafted to the instantly recognisable P-bass body shape, with deep cutaways for greater upper fret access. The shapely lines and ergonomically designed body makes this bass incredibly comfortable to play, whether you prefer to wear is slung low or held high.
Basswood has been used in the construction of the body. It may be a relatively lightweight tonewood, but its characteristically dense material properties mean it has a roaring mid to low-end engine at its core. As a result, the power to weight ratio is highly favourable, giving this model an energetic response whilst remaining easy on the back, and highly enjoyable to wield onstage.
Fast Maple Neck
The slender maple neck has been shaped to the modern "C"-profile, making it very comfortable in the hand. Married to the neck is a maple fingerboard, home to 20 vintage-style frets that are a dream to navigate. The maple/maple combination guarantees a fast-acting attack, which ensures a great deal of articulation across the entire length of the fingerboard.
Simple Yet Versatile Electronics
In keeping with the simplistic 70s design, the Classic Vibe is fitted with a Fender-designed single split-coil Precision Bass pickup in the middle position. The electronics setup and control layout may be simple in deign, with only single master volume and tone knobs to shape and lift your signal. However, the Fender-designed pickup has more than enough muscle to satisfy the most ferocious of tastes. The versatility and range of tonal options at your disposal is remarkable for such an uncluttered setup. Whatever style of music you play, this bass can quite easily produce tones that will blow you away.
Resilient Hardware
A 'HiMass' bridge with four brass barrel saddles creates a seamless connect between each string and the body, making it easier to maintain intonate and upholding sustain with ease. Vintage-style tuning machines control tuning integrity, so no matter how aggressively your performance gets, the Classic Vibe 70s will match you every step of the way.
The Squier Classic Vibe Precision Bass 70s is a superb bass guitar that is a dream to play, and produces a fat, tight tone. Whether you're taking to the studio or the stage, this beauty will happily accompany you in style.
