The Squier Classic Vibe Bass VI Guitar is an unusual model that sits somewhere between a baritone guitar and bass guitar. Originally issued by Fender in 1961, it's become a secret weapon for countless legendary guitarists over the years, offering something completely different to your regular six-string.
Classic Looks, Modern Spec
The Squier Classic Vibe Bass VI Guitar is constructed with Poplar in the Jaguar-style body shape. Giving it a balanced and full-bodied tone, Poplar is well known for being one of the most versatile tonewoods, so although this is guitar tuned low, you get a range of tonal qualities from it.
The comfortable 'C' profile neck has a 30-inch scale, putting it in short scale bass territory. Married to an Indian Laurel fretboard that gives a comfortable playing feel equally adept at walking bass as it is at jazz chords. 21 frets marked with Pearloid Block inlays ensure you can always find your way around.
Powerful Electronics, Reliable Hardware
The Squier Classic Vibe Bass VI is armed with three Fender Designed Alnico Single-Coil pickups for tonal variety. The pickups come with shielding claws as seen on Jaguar style models that give focus to the amount of vibration the pickups receive to relay a mellower sound to your ears. The four pickup switches work in an on/off fashion resulting in plenty of scope for sonic sculpting, you can switch each pickup on or off as you please in any combination and there's also a tone circuit 'bass strangle' switch that gives you a further option to cut some of the bass tones.
With a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style bridge you can be assured of great intonation and solid tuning stability in conjunction with the Vintage Style tuning machines. THe Non-Locking Floating Vibrato also gives you the option to add some shimmer and flutter to your bass tone, so you can create some really interesting sounds that wouldn't be plausible on a regular bass guitar without expensive modification.
The Squier Classic Vibe Bass VI is an unusual and eye-catching piece of equipment that is bound to turn heads wherever it goes. Sitting somewhere between a baritone and a bass guitar its versatility shines whether playing funk bass or plucking arpeggios.
