Details
The Stratocaster is one of the most revered electric guitars on the market, and for young guitarists and beginners it can often be hard to afford one. However the Squier Contemporary Stratocaster has been designed with beginners and students in mind, retaining all the main qualities while also making it affordable. If you're looking to brush up on your playing skills, the Contemporary Stratocaster is an excellent choice.
Classic Strat Design
Hailing from the Squier Contemporary series, this Strat still has that all-important double cutaway shape. Constructed entirely from basswood, this solid tonewood has a comfortable, lightweight feel that is perfect for beginners and young guitarists. The body is given a polyurethane finish to protect its colour.
Comfortable neck
A 25.5 inch scale length maple neck is firmly joined by a 4-bolt neck plate to the basswood body and shaped to a "C" profile. The neck is topped with 22 medium jumbo frets on a sumptuous 12 inch radius rosewood fingerboard. The frets are adorned with pearloid white dot inlays that act as a dependable guide as you transition from one fret to the next.
Capable Electronics
The Squier Contemporary Strat has been kitted out with three brilliant pickups; a Zebra Humbucking pickup sits in the bridge position, while Standard Single-Coil Strat pickups are placed in the neck and middle positions. By employing a humbucker instead of a third single-coil pickup, Squier provide you with access to a higher sound output with thicker, fatter tone but without compromising on the quintessential single-coil Strat sound.
Tweaking your sound is made simple thanks to a 5-way pickup switch, Master Volume and two tone controls.
Hardware
The Contemporary Strat features a 6-saddle vintage-style synchronised tremolo bridge. This is a classic feature on many Stratocasters, with a whammy bar allowing you to create diving and wailing tones like all the best rock stars from over the years.
At the opposite end of the guitar, the typical Strat-shaped headstock is fitted with very reliable standard die-cast tuners to uphold tuning integrity with each string.
The polyurethane finish of the Contemporary body is protected by a 1-ply pickguard, while the white plastic control knobs add a neat visual aesthetic to this model.
