A natural beauty
The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass with natural finish, represents all that made the original such an iconic choice for bass players all over the world. From the shapely and ever so comfortable to play Jazz Bass body profile, to the superbly transparent pickup selection, this model is a must for performers who desire a beautiful model, with a toughness of character that enables it to travel very well indeed.
The body is constructed using a soft maple that has the desirable qualities of delivering a solid feel with a fundamentally rich tone, whilst never feeling cumbersome. Thanks to the maples light feel, and the beautifully contoured Jazz Bass curves, the body is a joy to perform with. The natural finish enables the gorgeous maple grain to shine through in all its glory, whilst a slender but resilient layer of polyurethane protects the tonewood from unwanted buffing, scrapes, or premature ageing.
Fitted to the body is a one-piece maple neck, which is shaped to the slim "C" profile and plays like a dream. Married to the neck is a sublime 20-fret maple fingerboard, bearing block position inlays that compliment the natural finish in style whilst providing a useful navigational tool.
The all-maple design across the body, neck and fingerboard gives this bass a soulful yet snappily responsive tonality. The low end is generous, with a deft midrange smack, and the highs shine through beautifully. It's fair to say it delivers a carefully balanced output. The chrome finish hardware dutifully carries out tasks without fail. The 4-saddle standard bridge meticulously anchors strings to uphold intonation, whilst the standard open-gear tuning machines firmly hold strings in tune throughout each and every performance.
That soulful, classic sound emanates from a pair of Fender-designed single-coil Jazz Bass pickups. These can be controlled from the independent volume controls for each pickup and the master tone control. With the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass Guitar, you can truly shape the tone to your liking, one of the key strengths of the Vintage Modified Jazz Bass.
As with other models in their Vintage Modified range, the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass represents staggeringly good value for money. From the deft curves and perfectly executed Jazz Bass design, to the crisp timbre of the tonewoods, from the tonal dexterity of the pickups to the exquisite playing feel, you'll wonder how you ever got by without one of this beauties in your hands.
