The Strymon Riverside Multistage Drive Guitar Effects Pedal marries the very best in smooth vintage-style overdrive with the modern high-gain saturated tones in a humbly designed unit. The understated finish belies the power that resides within the stable chassis, and whether you're an amateur racking up an enviable arsenal of gear, or a touring pro who demands the best, Strymon never fail to produce the highest quality pedals that are guaranteed to endure.
Peerless pedal design
Stymon go to painstaking lengths when designed and testing their pedals, and the Riverside has benefitted from a wealth of experience in the world of tone design. Harmonically rich, tonally versatile, and enviably lush, the tube-inspired drive sounds on offer are the result of cascading gain stages that ensure unparalleled smoothness throughout. Your tone meets the Class A analogue JFET input gain stage first, which responds faithfully to the nuances of your guitar's output. The precision crafted DSP generates aurally-pleasing harmonics that complements your amp at any volume level.
Delightfully sweet tones
The key to the Riverside's sublime tones is that it continuously tweaks a plethora of parameters behind-the-scenes so that the sweet spot tracks with your variable gain setting. Attenuation of the Drive knob causes the circuitry to make continuous adjustments, optimising tone accordingly. Whether you're seeking a hint of a spark, mild midrange sizzle, high-gain lead energy, or fat and thick distortion, the Riverside is more than capable and happy to oblige.
As well as having the ability to self-attenuate in real-time in response to your guitar's tone and gain setting, the Riverside is equipped with a 3-band EQ with independent Bass, Middle, and Treble knobs that give you even greater tone-shaping flexibility. The three-position Presence switch tempers the highest frequencies, allowing the pedal to settle nicely into any setup, regardless of how bright or dark your amp is.
Connectivity & True Bypass
Across the rear panel, you'll find a high-impedance mono input, mono output, a boost input and an expression pedal input. The boost input allows an external footswitch to be connected to offer an additional +6dB of analogue boost. The expression pedal input allows real-time control over multiple parameters in expression mode, as we as volume control in volume mode.
The Strymon Riverside offers True Bypass (eletromechanical relay switching) or selectable transparent Analogue Buffered Bypass, to enable you to get the most out of your pedalboard setup. Whether you like to keep things simple with a minimal setup, or extend your live arsenal to include an elaborate assortment of gear, the Riverside allows you to optimise your output. Included with each model is a 9V DC power supply that gives you all the energy you need to keep you powered up and playing.
