Takamine are known all over the world for their premium quality range of guitars which are solidly built but affordable for the masses. Takamine have been crafting excellent guitars for over fifty years, so this model will be no different. The GD30CE has the conventional dreadnought body which is synonymous among guitarists from all walks of life.
Powerful Dreadnought Profile
The Takamine GD30CE has the classic dreadnought body shape which, thanks to its considerable depth, generates an energetic resonance with plenty of volume. This dreadnought model is a worthy companion for either the stage or in the recording studio, and its shape and tone is suitable for both strumming and fingerstyle play. The soft, black finish combined with the rosette soundhole and curved sides gives this dreadnought its distinctive character.
Takamine have carefully assembled the GD30CE using mahogany wood for the neck, back and sides to produce a warm, rounded and resonant timbre, with a particularly strong mid-range. Mahogany wood feels physically lighter in comparison to rosewood and this type of structure offers a dynamic response and a more even tonal range.
The GD30CE has a solid spruce top which fuses with the mahogany to produce a loud and clear response and contributes to the tonality on the whole. Over the years the solid spruce tonewood will develop a unique sound the more it is played.
The Takamine GD30CE is equipped with the TP-4TD preamp system which includes a built-in tuner, volume and tone controls all at your fingertips when practising or performing. The preamp system establishes a clean and clear output which is ready for the stage and the recording studio.
The built-in tuner is a great gadget that will accompany you wherever you take your guitar. The tuner has a firm connection with each string so you can retune with ease without having to worry about hitting any wrong notes.
Hardware and Finish
This dreadnought comes with some distinctive Takamine design features that set it apart from many other models. The pin-less rosewood bridge makes restringing the guitar a quick and hassle-free process. The bridge also has a split saddle that the strings lie on which, combined with the solid spruce soundboard, enhances the overall intonation.
The mahogany neck is slim and joins beautifully to the single Venetian cutaway in the body which grants you the freedom to slide up and down the elegant rosewood fingerboard and reach the upper frets comfortably. The Takamine GD30CE is a magnificent electro acoustic guitar which would make a fantastic addition to anyone’s guitar collection.
