For the last five decades, Takamine have crafted high quality acoustic guitars that appeal to all guitarists thanks to their affordable prices. The GY93E is shaped to the Takamine New Yorker body shape, which is a smaller body but fear not, you won’t miss out on all the fantastic tones and sounds that this guitar can produce. The combination of a solid build, appearance and a wide range of frequencies make this smaller-bodied guitar the perfect choice for beginners and professionals alike.
NEW YORKER BODY
The New Yorker profile by Takamine is a petite style guitar body with all the curves in the right places, however its smaller feel allows for comfortable playability for all guitarists. In fact, the New Yorker is the smallest full-scale body that Takamine do. The shape contributes to ensuring that the guitar has a clear frequency range and sweet intonation.
Takamine have used a scalloped bracing design for the interior of the body on the GY93E. This technique and build allows the guitar to vibrate freely whilst also relieving some of the weight. It also offers wonderful resonance and volume whether you’re playing through an amp or not.
The GY93E is constructed with a blend of tonewoods for optimum quality of sound thanks to Takamine’s attention to the finer details. The solid spruce body top works together with the 3-piece rosewood body to produce a rich timbre. At the back, the strip of quilted maple in the centre gives this acoustic guitar its own character that is different to the norm.
The neck has a slim profile mahogany with a beautiful rosewood 20-fret fingerboard adorned with abalone white dot inlays to guide you comfortably up and down the frets.
TAKAMINE TP-40D PREAMP ELECTRONICS
The GY93E is fitted with the Takamine TP40D preamp system, which has a built-in tuner, EQ, volume and tone controls, as well as a handy little feature that helps to cut out any feedback noise especially when on stage. This preamp system displays brightly so you can read it easily in a dark room or on stage, and this is particularly helpful when you’re retuning your strings. Once you plug into an amp, all the natural tones and sustain will be perfectly translated.
The built-in tuner is a great gadget in this preamp so wherever you are, you can retune your strings with complete accuracy.
HARDWARE AND FINISH
The GY93E has an innovative split saddle bridge and synthetic bone nut which, combined with the solid spruce body top, allows you to experiment a range of sounds. The soundhole is decorated with a dark wood rosette for a clean finish to its natural colouring. The headstock is fitted with gold die-cast tuners and slick black keys.
The GY93E is a incredible electro acoustic guitar with a stunning natural finish that has been designed to produce a rich timbre whilst having a stand-out appearance.
