For players of Country, Blues, Light Rock and Jazz styles of music, the Tama Sound Lab Project Maple Shell Snare Drum is a must have. Mixing vintage appointments with modeern build technique, Tama have developed this amazing instrument that's brimming with unique character.
Classic shell construction
This sound lab project snare comes with 6mm, 2 maple inner plies, 2 Poplar plies, 1 maple ply and 1 figured maple outer ply complete with a sound focus ring to bring it all together. This delivers a warm and open sound that focuses more on character than it does volume. Used as part of a fully acoustic set, this snare will shine! But it is equally as good when mic'd up for part of a big gig.
To work in harmony with the shell, the SLP Maple Snare utilises some top-spec hardware that nods its hat to a more vintage era. Steel mighty hoops with 8 holes provide consistent tension and make for easy tuning with the hi-tension lugs. For the right amount of snap and crack, the 20 strand starclassic hi-carbon steel snares can be adjusted to your exact requirement.
Vintage drum enthusiasts will appreciate the time-tested shell specification and more contemporary drummers will value its modern craftsmanship, this snare is a superb hybrid and is guaranteed to inject some brilliant character into your drumming set-up.
