With similar attributes to the travel-sized instruments in the Roadster Series, the Tanglewood TWR 0 LH Left Handed Acoustic Guitar offers a little more. Its larger body provides a larger sound, a full-sized scale length, and a soundhole rosette, which was omitted from the T and TE models.
Compact and Comfortable, with a Big Sound
The Tanglewood Roadster TWR 0 LH Left Handed Acoustic Guitar is similar to some travel-sized guitars in the way that it offers compact dimensions in an instrument that punches out more volume that you would expect it to be capable of.
Of course, the orchestra shape used here is larger than a travel guitar, and therefore is capable of producing an even bigger sound. At the same time it is more manageable that your garden-variety dreadnought shape, but still offers that incredible projection, making it the perfect instrument for those who need something smaller, but don’t want to lose too much volume.
Classic Wood Combination
For the construction of the Tanglewood Roadster TWR 0 Acoustic Guitar, the manufacturers have opted for the classic combination of a spruce top, balanced out with mahogany for the back and sides.
With its wide-ranging tonal palette, spruce has long been a popularised by luthiers, as it offers such a usable spectrum of sound. Lows are deep, mids warm, and highs crisp, and with the strength and elasticity of the wood, every note sounds out with the utmost clarity. Giving the guitar a richer overall tone, is the dense mahogany used to craft the instrument’s back and sides.
Full-size Scale Length
One very important way in which the Tanglewood Roadster TWR 0 Acoustic Guitar differs from travel-sized guitars is that, although it is a more compact instrument, it offers a full 650mm scale length, so you don’t need to worry about altering your playing style.
This length is made up of a 43mm white ABS nut at the top of the neck, and a rosewood bridge with a white ABS compensated saddle at the other end. In-between the two you will find a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard adorned with dot position markers. A set of chrome die-cast machine heads can be found at the guitar’s headstock.
