The impeccable 320e model receives a special edition finish with the Taylor 320e-SEB, which comes in a beautiful Shaded Edge Burst; giving the guitar a wonderfully vintage aesthetic.
Dreadnought Shape, Taylor Quality
Built to dreadnought specifications, the Taylor 320e-SEB is an extremely powerful and versatile guitar, while the choice of tonewoods used and high quality construction of the instrument ensure it sounds amazing and plays beautifully. The versatility on offer is apparent with the guitar’s wide dynamic range, which still plays at volume with gentle finger-picking, and fills the room when played with aggressive strumming, all the while accentuating the tone of the instrument, rather than drowning it out with needless noise.
If I said you had a Beautiful Body…
Tropical mahogany has been put in place for the Taylor 320e-SEB Electro-Acoustic Guitar’s top, to provide the bright, punchy, and snappy tone that the dense tonewood is known for, though this wood can also develop over time to create a warmer sound that is just as appealing. The top also benefits from a forward shifted bracing pattern, which has a relief rout, this offers not only structural strength but it allows the top to resonate more freely, whilst remaining structurally sound.
Meeting the tropical mahogany of the top is West African sapele, used to craft the back and sides of the guitar. Tonally similar to mahogany, this wood offers a balanced tone that delivers across a variety of styles, making it perfect for a guitar shape as versatile as the dreadnought, while adding a little more sparkle to trebles.
As with the top, the neck of the guitar is crafted from tropical mahogany, which is joined by an ebony fingerboard offering 20 frets and 4mm dot position inlays. The neck has also been treated to a stain finish, for easy, comfortable playability. At the top of the neck is the headstock, which here has an Indian rosewood overlay, and is equipped with a set of nickel tuner.
Authentic Acoustic Sound, Plugged-in
Ensuring an accurate representation of the acoustic sound of the Taylor 320e-SEB Electro-Acoustic Guitar when the instrument is plugged-in, Taylor have left nothing to chance. Rather than relying on third-party electronics, Taylor took the bold decision to design their own pickup, to suit their guitars. The updated version of which can be found in this instrument; the Expression System 2.
Using three sensors, placed in strategic positions behind the guitar’s saddle, this pickup system captures a more accurate map of the guitar’s sound to then pass on to your amp or P.A system. You also have a selection of three, unobtrusive controls available to you from the guitar’s upper bout, these are: volume, bass, and treble.
