The TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal takes over from its predecessor and adds some ground-breaking features that make it better than ever before. As well as eight exceptional reverb types to choose from (including Shimmer), the HOF2 boasts TC Electronic's revolutionary MASH technology, which infuses expression pedal control into a compact stompbox with mind-blowing results.
Hall of Fame 2 controls
Across the top of the pedal you'll find a plethora of controls that enables you to dial in your effect with precision. There are four control knobs: Decay; Tone; Type Selector; and Level. Decay enables you to determine how long the effect remains audible, from a tight response to cavernous reverberations. Tone controls the volume of the octave up signal, taking you anywhere from sparkling to gloomy - whatever you desire. The Type Selector is exactly what you'd expect, giving you control over what reverb you wish to choose with 8 studio-quality presets, and three TonePrint slots for your own or artist created TonePrints. The Level control adjusts how loud the output effect is, from ambient bounciness to ethereal soundscapes.
The Pre-Delay mini toggle switch enables you to select a short or long timescale. A short pre-delay gives the impression that your sound is bouncing off a wall close to you, whereas the long option extends it to appear as though you are in a larger room. The footswitch adds an extra dimension to this pedal thanks to the built-in MASH technology.
MASH enables the footswitch to respond to the amount of pressure placed on the footswitch. Therefore, the greater the pressure on the switch, the greater the intensity of the reverb effect. For each reverb, MASH affects a different parameter, giving you expression pedal control without having to attenuate any knobs on the pedal or incorporate a separate unit. In the TonePrint Editor, you can assign MASH control to any parameter that you wish.
In response to many requests from fans, TC Electronic have incorporated a Shimmer algorithm into the Hall of Fame 2, which adds an octave pitch shift to your signal. Borrowing from their state-of-the-art polyphonic octave algorithm in the Sub 'N' Up Octaver, you can inject your tone with a studio-ready shimmering beauty. Then by using MASH, you can ramp up the effects self-oscillation to new dimensions.
True to Tone
In sticking with their design philosophy to put tone preservation in your hands, the Hall of Fame 2 Reverb pedal features optimised headroom, True Bypass or Buffered Bypass, and Kill-Dry on/off. You can immaculate tonal integrity where using short or extended cable runs, and no matter how elaborate your layout, you can rest assured that you tone sounds perfect.
By now I think we are all aware of TC Electronic's awesome TonePrint tech, but for the uninitiated, here is a brief overview. TC's TonePrint editor allows you to dive deep into the world of patch editing, and enables you to create your own TonePrint's from scratch. In the case of the Hall of Fame 2, you can create your own unique reverbs that will create some earth rumbling tones. You can control effect behaviour, knob ranges, and everything in between. Alternatively, you can select one of TC Electronic's many TonePrints that have been created by some of the world's top artists.
If you download the free TonePrint app for Android or iPhone, you can quite literally beam your selected TonePrint from your phone to your pedal via your guitar's pickup. No messing about!
