The TC Electronic Sub 'N' Up Mini Octaver Guitar Effects Pedal offers the polyphonic octave magnificence of its bigger brother in a compact form. Don't be fooled by its size, it boasts an output that belies its diminuitive form. The biggest difference here is the focus on a more simplistic layout, for no-nonsense control over your tone.
The Sub 'N' Up Mini Octaver can be used as an old school monophonic octaver. Alternatively, it can be turned to a more modern polyphonic octaver that ensures all notes adhere closely to you when playing chords and harmonies. Using TC Electronic's TonePrint Editor, you can manipulate the pedal controls to suit your wishes.
Across the top of the Sub 'N' Up Mini Octaver you'll find three knobs: Dry; Sub; and Up. Dry controls the mix between your guitar's tone and the octaver effected sound. The higher the level, the lower the effect, and vice versa. Sub enables a low octave to be dialled in for a fuller low-end presence, essentially offering tight bass lines that follow your lead to the note. Up adds an octave above to bring in that shimmering 12-string vibe. The True Bypass footswitch ensures that your signal remains unblemished to prevent coloration whilst retaining high-end clarity.
By now I think we are all aware of TC Electronic's awesome TonePrint tech, but for the uninitiated, here is a brief overview. TC's TonePrint editor allows you to dive deep into the world of patch editing, and enables you to create your own TonePrint's from scratch. In the case of the Sub 'N' Up, you can control effect behaviour, knob ranges, and everything in between. Alternatively, you can select one of TC Electronic's many TonePrints that have been created by some of the world's top artists.
The Sub 'N' Up isn't just for guitarists either; there are plenty of TonePrints available to keep bassists more than happy too.
If you download the free TonePrint app for Android or iPhone, you can quite literally beam your selected TonePrint from your phone to your pedal via your guitar's pickup. No messing about!
