The Wampler Latitude Standard is a more compact version of its big brother, the Latitude Deluxe Tremolo. Inspired by the old "blackface" amplifiers of the 60s, you will discover a wide range of varying tremolo tones all from its small chassis. Its design is both convenient and foolproof, making it an ideal companion to have on your pedalboard on stage or in the studio.
Handmade in the USA, the Wampler Latitude Standard is a stripped-down, simpler take on the Deluxe pedal. It has less controls than its Deluxe sibling but it still provides great tremolo sounds, and in many ways it could be perceived as being a lot easier to use.
Three control dials sit in a triangle on the top of the Latitude Standard. The Speed knob allows you to control the number of times the guitar reaches its full volume in the space of one minute, and the tremolo tempo can be seen pulsing via the red flashing LED light just below the bypass LED to help you. Depth then controls the amount of tremolo effect, while Level controls the overall volume of the effect to prevent a loss of sound when the effect is in use. You can create anything from quite choppy waves when the Depth is turned to the maximum, or you can have smoother sine-style waves, whichever suits you most. The combination of Speed, Depth and Level controls essentially reshapes your guitar's entire sound output and reliability of this pedal makes it stage-worthy from the moment it is taken out of the packaging.
The Wampler Latitude Standard is indeed a completely true bypass pedal, ensuring that the footswitch is much smoother and that it also remains quiet when engaging or disengaging the pedal.
If you're looking for a more simplified, user-friendly version of the Latitude Deluxe then the Wampler Latitude Standard Tremolo pedal is most likely to suit you.
