In short, SRT technology is like having a professional microphone and studio built into your guitar, giving you not just the sound of the strings but of the natural, ambient sound of the acoustic guitar. This, Yamaha has produced through a sound modelling technique, designed through extensive analysis of string and body resonance, ambience, vintage microphone characteristics, and professional micing techniques.
The resulting SRT system gives you access to three high-end mic types and two mic positions, for a total of six setting patterns accessible from the guitar’s preamp. You also have a Blend control that lets you mix in a combination of pickup and mic sound elements, along with a Resonance control that enables you to create a wide range of rich, natural sounds. Of course, you also have the classic preamp controls: Volume, 3-band EQ (Low, Mid, High), and a built-in tuner.
