The Yamaha EAD10 Electronic Acoustic Drum Module dynamically transforms your acoustic drum kit into a powerful digital/electronic hybrid thanks to the power of built in sampled sounds and stunning studio quality digital effects. The EAD10 allows you to play and record your acoustic drums along with your favourite artists from your music collection or from tracks from your friends. The EAD10 makes it so that your drum kit can do more in a lightweight, easy to use unit.
Taking your kit further
The Yamaha EAD10 comprises of the EAD Sensor and the EAD Module. The Sensor easily attaches to the bass drum hoop and records the entire drum kit from this position thanks to the built in stereo microphones. The bass drum itself activates a Trigger in the EAD Sensor. These signals are sent via two cables to the EAD Module where they can be brought to life with digital effects which can be mixed in with your kit. The result is a premium quality recording of the processed sound, which can be monitored through headphones, a PA system or sent to a laptop or mobile devise via USB for digital recording.
Expansion without the bulk
The Yamaha EAD10 Module gives you the ability to extend and layer your acoustic drum sound with more than 750 built-in Samples or up to 100 sounds of your own! For this purpose, the EAD10 Module offers Inputs for up to six Triggers such as the Yamaha DT50, which can also be used with additional Pads instead of sensors attached to the drums.
When the Yamaha EAD10 is connected to a computer with appropriate software such as a digital audio workstation, the configured sound can be recorded directly. This quickly and easily results in great drum recordings without the need for additional microphones or studio equipment - perfect for recording on the go.
The Yamaha EAD10 works symbiotically with Yamaha's free iOS App Rec'n'Share. This makes it possible to shoot videos of your own performances, which can then be stored and uploaded to social media or YouTube. for learning and practice requirements, the music can be played back at different tempos in the App, with the option of an automatically generated clicktrack. Jamming and practising has never been so interactive on an acoustic kit before.
The Yamaha EAD10 Electronic Acoustic Drum Module is indeed a physically small add-on for your kit, but the possibilities it will present you with is enormous - make your drums do more.
