Yamaha's FG series is known as the best-selling acoustic series in the world, and the FGX830C draws on influences from its sibling, the FG830. Yamaha have over five decades of experience in designing and producing high quality acoustic instruments, and the FGX830C is no exception, incorporating excellent, cured woods to deliver a great acoustic timbre.

With over 50 years of guitar-building under their belts, Yamaha have plenty of knowledge when it comes to selecting woods and materials to enhance the guitar's sound and appearance. Solid spruce is the tonewood of choice in the body top and is paired with rosewood in the back and sides. Rosewood improves the sustain and produces a range of deep lows and sparkling highs, while the solid spruce enables the guitar to project with clarity.

Yamaha have administered brand new bracing beneath the soundboard. This new and innovative scalloped bracing design not only bolsters the body top, but also enrichens the low to mid overtones. The research and analysis Yamaha have carried out in the introduction of the bracing has been extensive and certainly makes a difference when compared to normal body bracing.

Yamaha have chosen nato wood to build the neck and paired it with rosewood in the fingerboard. The neck has a sturdy feel while the rosewood top offers a silky smooth playing surface. The FGX830C has 20 frets to explore, while the cutaway in the body enables much easier access to the upper frets using the dot inlays as a guide.

For an electro acoustic output, Yamaha have fitted the SYSTEM66+ SRT preamp. The preamp has an easy-to-use interface which features a 3-band EQ, Volume control and a convenient onboard tuner. The preamp transparently delivers the full-bodied tone of the FGX830C, giving you more volume and plenty of punch in its projection.

A rosewood bridge is fitted to the lower bout of the body to maintain a strong connection between the body and strings, consequently enhancing the resonance and sustain on offer. A protective pickguard sits beneath the soundhole which has a decorative inlay of abalone with black and white.

Die-cast chrome tuners on the headstock work fantastically well in ensuring that tuning remains accurate while you play.

The Yamaha FGX830C is a magnificent electro acoustic model which will appeal to any contemporary guitarist looking for great sound output, comfort and alluring appearance.
