Bringing back legendary instruments, updating them for today’s players, and making them perfectly portable whilst retaining a high level of audio quality; Yamaha’s reface series gives you a choice of four incredible mini keyboards, giving players of all types something to lust after.
Based on the CS Control Synthesizer, which has a very significant place in history, the Yamaha reface CS Analogue Synthesizer offers access to this classic instrument in dimensions more befitting of modern times, making it perfect for on-the-go players; whether songwriters, sound designers or live performers who and are on the road, on stage, or in the studio. Anywhere inspiration strikes, you can play.
With five hours of life being provided by six AA batteries, you never have to be without this enjoyable little instrument. This said, the unit also has a DC IN for connecting a power supply when you’re planning on a long session.
From Classic to Modern
Since its introduction in 1976, the original Yamaha Control Synthesizer series has appeared on tracks by Vangelis, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. The Yamaha reface CS Analogue Synthesizer doesn’t just recreate the monophonic synth but expands on its dynamism, whilst also making it simpler to use.
With this in mind, the reface CS offers a 37-key (3 octaves) mini-action keyboard and a polyphonic tone generator with 8 voices and 5 oscillator types consisting of: multi saw, pulse, oscillator sync, ring modulation, and frequency modulation. Together this brings you a massive range of both analogue and digital sounds, all of which can be altered easily with a whole host of sliders that have been sectioned to be easy to navigate for the player.
Get Creative with Worldwide Sharing
The Yamaha reface CS Analogue Synthesizer goes beyond what you can see in front of you, as it is designed to be shared with the world. Utilising Yamaha’s online community, Soundmondo, you can create with others, share your music, and discover new sounds, all via direct synchronisation with the synth. If you’re not the sharing type, you can store your voices and set lists in a private area.
Connect to iPhone/iPad with Free, reface iOS App
The Yamaha reface CS Analogue Synthesizer also connects with your iPhone and iPad with the free reface iOS app. This makes it easy to store and transfer all your sounds when you’re on the go. The app has a search function for locating sounds quickly and each voice stored can be attributed with a name, picture, and several tags. Furthermore you can save them into set list and store them in a particular order, to be easily recalled one after another.
A really intuitive use for the humble QR code; you can use the app to generate a QR code from any of your stored voices and share this over email or using the camera of another iOS device to import it to the app on that device.
