The newly developed FG series of TransAcoustic guitars have been carefully engineered using inventive technology to enhance the overall sound output wherever you play. We can all appreciate how wonderful an acoustic guitar sounds when played in a hall or perhaps a room that improves the sound qualities of an instrument in its natural form. Yamaha have drawn influence from this in the form of the TransAcoustic FG-TA concert-style guitar which projects with volume and clarity in just about any venue, indoors or outdoors.
Yamaha's FG-series features modified non-scalloped bracing beneath the soundboard which helps produce a well-balanced range of tones, from the typical resonant FG-series timbre but with a strong, improved low-end. The body top is made of solid spruce which is then put through the rigorous A.R.E. treatment process. This procedure is what gives the FG-TA that cool, vintage acoustic tone from the moment you play it, while it simultaneously causes the wood to improve over time. The back and sides are made from mahogany to partner the spruce top for a durable build and full-bodied timbre.
Yamaha have fitted a mahogany neck and gives it an enduring build and counteracts the danger of it becoming warped. A sleek rosewood fingerboard pairs the neck and provides a comfortable, effortless playing surface. With 20 frets at your service, rolled fingerboard edges and a straight neck taper, your playing ability will certainly be enhanced.
The FG-TA is equipped with a SYSTEM70 Piezo pickup so you can plug the guitar into an amplifier for an electro acoustic output. The preamp works with the Actuator in responding to the vibration of the strings, further boosting the sound and resonance of the guitar. With just three simple controls you can have a choice of Reverb (room / hall variations), Chorus and Line Out Volume.
Hardware and finish
A convenient feature of the FG-TA is its newly designed battery box which sits inside the end pin jack. Yamaha designed the preamp control buttons and battery box in a way that reduces the amount of holes drilled into the guitar during its construction, which consequently prevents losing out on any of its vital acoustic tones. For better intonation and sustain, a rosewood bridge holds a firm connection between the body and strings of the guitar. The headstock is fitted with die-cast chrome tuners which maintain accurate tuning throughout your performances.
The Yamaha TransAcoustic FG-TA Electro Acoustic Guitar is a remarkable instrument which will empower acoustic guitar players all over the world and provide incredible amounts of sonic enjoyment.
