The Yamaha FS-TA Acoustic Guitar is a superbly built, high quality model that draws on over five decades of guitar-building experience. Yamaha's fruitful FG series began in 1966, and has long since remained one of the most sought-after acoustic guitars in the world. The FS acoustic body is designed to be 10mm slimmer than the FG, which appeals to a broader range of musicians thanks to its more comfortable feel. With its stunning, all-mahogany body, the FS-TA is an all-round crowd pleaser.
Compact body with bracing
The engineers at Yamaha have spent a lot of time developing their methods to find new ways of improving an acoustic guitar's sound output. Thanks to the extensive research they have carried out, a new scalloped body bracing design was born. The scalloped bracing featured beneath the body top of the FS-TA adds strength to the soundboard and emphasises the natural, true acoustic tone of the guitar.
A solid spruce top is employed for enhanced projection and is paired with all-mahogany in the back and sides. Mahogany is known as a very warm, dense tonewood, and its woody, textured timbre helps produce a more refined acoustic sound with an incredibly rich midrange.
A strong nato neck is firmly joined to the FS-TA and is topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. Subtle dot inlays decorate the frets to direct you from one to the next with confidence. The nato neck ensures a comfortable and durable feel in your hand as you make your way along the frets, while the rosewood contributes to smoother transitions.
Hardware and Finish
A sturdy rosewood bridge with urea saddle is fitted to the lower bout of the guitar to maintain a strong connection between the body and strings. The all-mahogany body is also complete with mahogany and cream binding, as well as a decorative tortoise pattern pickguard to protect the body top against scratches.
The headstock of the FS-TA is kitted out with die-cast chrome tuners to accomplish tuning accuracy with precision.
The FS-TA is equipped with a SYSTEM70 Piezo pickup so you can plug the guitar into an amplifier for an electro acoustic output. The preamp works with the Actuator in responding to the vibration of the strings, further boosting the sound and resonance of the guitar. With just three simple controls you can have a choice of Reverb (room / hall variations), Chorus and Line Out Volume.
The Yamaha FS-TA is a high quality acoustic model at an economical price, integrating value with specially selected materials for a versatile yet enjoyable playing experience.
