The Yamaha TransAcoustic LL-TA is an expertly crafted, artistic acoustic guitar which takes what looks like an ordinary jumbo to dizzy new heights. One of the most satisfying things about playing an acoustic is when the sound is just right, especially in the right room, as it all just comes together perfectly. With the LL-TA, you can be assured that wherever you play, you will achieve that wonderful sound, and this is all thanks to an array of innovative, remarkable features combined with a solid, reliable build.
L-SERIES BUILD WITH ACTUATOR
The Yamaha TransAcoustic LL-TA has an all-solid body taken from the L-series. Beneath the soundboard is modified non-scalloped body bracing which contributes significantly to the output, delivering a well-balanced, full-bodied bright range of tones.
The solid Engelmann spruce body top is given Yamaha's exceptional A.R.E. treatment. This measure cooperates in giving the guitar a vintage, well-developed sound from the moment you play it whilst reforming the wood itself. Rosewood is used in the back and sides as the ideal partner for the spruce top thanks to its enduring, reliable construction and superb tone.
The most interesting feature of the body is the actuator which is fitted on the inside at the back. It is an incredibly innovative, responsive device which reacts to the strings' vibrations, which in turn are beautifully delivered up through and out of the body. It rings out with each chord and note, meaning you can play in the comfort of your own home without actually having to plug into an external amp.
Yamaha have firmly joined a 5-ply mahogany / rosewood neck to the body which has a double-action adjustable rod. This ensures a stable, reliable playing feel while preventing any warping.
Topping the neck is a smooth, ebony fingerboard as your playing surface which has rolled edges, and combined with its straighter neck taper this improves the overall playing ability allowing you to keep going for longer.
A SYSTEM70 TransAcoustic+ Piezo Pickup is also fitted to the LL-TA which does enable you to plug the guitar into an amplifier for an electro acoustic output. This works alongside the Actuator to respond to the strings' vibrations for an impressive, full-bodied sound output.
The Piezo preamp has three simple controls which are integrated into the side of the body; Reverb, Chorus and Line Out Volume. Reverb allows you to switch between either a small room or a hall-type delivery, enabling you to shape your tone depending on where you're playing. The Line Out Volume come TA on / off switch controls whether the Actuator is engaged or switched off. Chorus can be increased or decreased easily using the knob for a nice, ambient tone.
HARDWARE AND FINISH
The LL-TA has a new battery box which sits in the end pin jack. Yamaha have carefully designed the LL-TA to ensure that it requires less holes in the body so as to prevent losing any acoustic sound, and the innovative battery design is a part of this thought process.
An ebony bridge increases sustain and intonation when the guitar is played, and die-cast gold tuners uphold tuning integrity from the headstock.
The Yamaha TransAcoustic LL-TA is an exceptional guitar which opens up a world of acoustic timbres, and it also comes with a hard gig bag for added protection wherever you choose to play it.
